Pillows for Andy

Andy asked me to make new pillows for her modern couch.  We chose two linens from Pierre Frey, one is a light weave with a glazed finish and the other a soft washable medium weight.   For the pair of pillows to go on the sides of the couch I made a reverse applique with the glazed linen behind and washed the pieces so the edges would fray.
We wanted to make a long rectangle pillow for the center of the couch.  Andy had ordered little memo samples of the couch fabric and we used them to applique the squares.  I made the fringe that I used to outline the squares and to border the knife edge of all three pillows by cutting strips of linen and pulling the threads and washing the pieces.

Here are the two side pillows……….you can see the reverse applique design.

Andy took this picture for me yesterday…………we are very happy…………looks beautiful.  Notice that I took the design of the reverse appliques from the pattern on her rug.
See you later………Kathi
