I’ve just finished this embroidered lampshade. I had originally made the pair with bird pictures. I completed one but I was not happy with the way the bird looked on the second. I contemplated for a month before I ripped it off. And I was undecided for another month about what new embroidery to design.
I thought I would draw a picture of Shorty chasing a squirrel.
This is the first lamp with the bird embroidery. It’s in the kitchen on a table that Chris built, also from driftwood.
More dog pictures.
I like to use raffia for this kind of embroidery, it’s thick and heavy and makes a nice contrast to the other thread.
Chris turned this pair of lamps from driftwood. The lamps were fabricated by Landbridge Lighting.
